How can it be Fathers Day again? I tell you the years are going quicker and quicker! Here are some uber cute ideas for homemade Father’s Day cards and crafts. I love this brown paper card from Angel Street Mom, who very kindly provides printable templates and instructions on how to make it.

Interesting reading. Got this from the local library as research for my masters. The reason most people buy stuff has nothing to do with need. Most people buy stuff to give others the impression that they're wealthy or have high social standing. Ironically the poorer you are or the lower in confidence you are the more you spend on trivial things. I think the lack of understanding around why and how people show is hampering the impact of the low-impact movement. If we keep marketing on the basis of need consumers are going to fill their trollises with what they perceive to be status symbols. And it's all very well to say that people should just stop. Turns out people who wear luxury goods are more likely to get jobs, money and their way.
For someone who generally doesn't do gifting I'm doing very well for myself this Christmas. Loving this very thoughtful present from @rachelwithless beautifully wrapped in newspaper and repurposed ribbon. I'm especially thrilled that the present inside is second-hand. I just have to get it back from my daughter who has nabbed it to read.
I know size doesn't matter, but it kinda does. The more followers I have, the more mainstream media listens and the higher up the agenda sustainable stories get. Thank you to each and every one of you!
Thank you so much to Manchán Magan for the shout out in the article he co-authored with Sorcha Hamilton on 50 tips for a more Sustainable Christmas
I've been a right zero waste floozie this weekend. This time with Jess in @the.good.neighbour in Dundrum. So delighted to have this gem on my doorstep now. Jess and I met when she emailed me from Canada for advice on opening a zero waste store in Ireland. We had great chats about location and business models. It's great to see all her hard work coming to fruition. I for one will be a regular visitor.
Such a lovely time opening &Keep for @ecoanniepooh in Greystones today. Fabulous people and great range of products. Managed to buy a few items that I've been seeking for a while. Lucky Greystones! Best of luck Anne. I'll be down again.
